Key differences between E-Spot and E-Quote rates

After you enter your quotation criteria in FreightSmart, you may see both E-Spot and E-Quote options. This article explains how they work differently, so you can choose the rate type that best fits your shipment plan.

What you need to know

  • E-Spot is an order-based rate. You create an order to reserve spaces first, then submit bookings from the reserved spaces.
  • E-Quote is a rate-sheet-based quotation that applies within a date range (“rate validity”). You can submit bookings for the period without creating an order in advance.
