Common Queries about Delay in Transit

Delay in Transit (also called “storage-in-transit”, “transit hold” or “stopover”) allows you to intentionally hold a container at a designated transshipment port for extra days, so as to ensure delivery aligns with your warehouse readiness, demand peaks, or downstream schedules. It’s available as a standalone additional service or part of Smart Combo.
Applicable handling charges for Delay in Transit will be displayed when you subscribe to the service during the ordering process. Additional charges depend on the required idling days at the transshipment port and will be communicated offline before service confirmation. For more details, please refer to the Delay-in-Transit Terms and Conditions .

Delay in Transit is ideal when you need to align cargo arrival with warehouse capacity, respond to forecast disruption, synchronise multi-origin shipments, or hold inventory closer to market without changing the original routing.
