Due to the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East and the resulting restrictions on maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, OOCL-operated vessels have been instructed to maintain a safe distance from the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz areas.
Currently, all OOCL‑operated vessels are outside the Persian Gulf and clear of the affected area.
According to the current sailing schedule, among OOCL‑operated vessels, only one vessel, COSCO SHIPPING AQUARIUS, is sailing westbound on the ME5 service and is expected to arrive at Jebel Ali no earlier than 13 March. We have instructed that, without prior approval, vessels must not enter the Persian Gulf or come within a 200‑nautical‑mile radius of the Strait of Hormuz.
Please rest assured that the safety of our crew, vessels, and your cargo remains our utmost priority. We will take all necessary precautionary measures to safeguard our operations and to minimize any potential impact on your cargo. Meanwhile, we are assessing alternative arrangements for affected cargo currently onboard and will handle the situation appropriately based on actual circumstances.
We are closely monitoring the situation, including the arrangements for affected vessels operated by our partners. Once details of the follow‑up measures (such as possible alternative discharge ports and cargo arrangements) are confirmed, our local representatives will promptly provide customers with the latest updates. In the meantime, should you require any assistance or have further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact the local OOCL representative.
