Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your FreightSmart account in addition to your password. Even if your password is compromised, only you can complete the sign-in or perform sensitive actions. You can receive codes by email or generate them instantly through the OOCL App.
Before you start
- You have access to your registered email address.
- You have installed the OOCL App on your mobile device.
Turn on MFA
- Click the user icon ( ) at the top-right corner of any page.
- Select Account Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Select Security. You will be redirected to the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) page.
- Toggle on Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- A one-time passcode will be sent to your registered email address. Enter the code to confirm the change.
Set up OOCL App
When enabling MFA for the first time, you will be prompted to register the OOCL App as your authenticator. Using the app delivers verification codes faster and more reliably than email. Once registered, all MFA codes will be delivered in-app instead of by email.
- After toggling on MFA, follow the on-screen instructions to set up the OOCL App.
- Open the OOCL App on your mobile device.
- Follow the in-app steps to link your OOCL account.
- Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app to complete the setup.
Mandatory MFA for sensitive actions
Even if you choose not to enable MFA for sign-in, verification is always required when performing the following sensitive actions:
- Managing users or permissions
- Managing company information
- Updating your personal information
