When creating an E-Spot order, you can set the payment term for ocean freight to Prepaid or Collect to match your shipping arrangement.
Overview
The payment term determines who is responsible for settling ocean freight charges:
- Prepaid – The shipper pays ocean freight charges before the shipment departs from the origin.
- Collect – The consignee pays ocean freight charges upon arrival at the destination.
Set your payment term
- On the Create E-Spot Order page when you are booking with E-Spot, scroll to the Payment Term section.
- Under Ocean Freight, select either Prepaid or Collect.
- Continue completing your order details and additional services.
- Review your order summary, then click Submit.
How surcharges apply
Surcharges will generally follow your selected payment term. However, certain surcharges may be required to be paid as Prepaid or Collect regardless of your selection, subject to carrier policy or applicable trade regulations.
You can review the payment terms of each surcharge item in the Surcharges Details and Conditional Surcharges tab before and after creating the E-Spot order.
| Payment terms cannot be changed after the order is created. Please confirm your preferred payment term before submitting your order. |
