Control Tower, one of the most important functions on FreightSmart, gives you convenient end-to-end control of your shipments by empowering you to view and manage your orders and bookings, submit related applications, and track your cargo in real time.
Getting Started
Once you have signed in to FreightSmart, a set of menu options enables you to access a range of functions, including E-Spot and E-Quote to obtain quotations and place orders. These actions are performed through an easy-to-use interface, with products you are interested in being stored in a shopping cart for review. This familiar approach makes the system intuitive, enabling the user to get started easily.
Control Tower Functions
When you select the Control Tower function, tabs on the main Control Tower menu gives you a choice of eight options:

Order – see all your order details and the status of each order. After placing your order, you should submit your booking(s). You can also make order adjustments here. In addition, the Export function allows you to show all records in one sheet and transfer them easily to other applications.

Booking – view the details and status of all your bookings, including any which are pending or cancelled. You can search by order number, booking number, or booking type. Bookings can be amended or cancelled from here.

Cargo Tracking+ – get a visual picture of all your container locations on a world map, and expand on the details of any specific cargo.

Document – keep track of all your Bills of Lading and other shipping documents.

Extra D&D Record – our Extra D&D service allows you to purchase additional free time for greater flexibility in your shipment planning. Here you can check the status and history of your Extra D&D purchases.

E-Customs Solution – check the status of your applications, submit customs clearance documents, and be guided through the related procedures.

E-Trucking – shows the status of services you have booked and keeps track of milestone updates of your cargo. You can also cancel your bookings here.

E-Quote – displays the status of your E-Quote rate sheets. You can also share the details of your desired port / point pairs with your booking agents, with sensitive information hidden.

For much of human history, “Where’s my cargo?” was a common query. Today, transformative new technologies – together with secure data sharing between supply chain partners – make it possible to answer this question with confidence.
Cargo Tracking+ at Control Tower supplies transparent information on your real-time cargo status from the moment you place your order, through to delivery and container return, with a map providing visualization of the ocean freight sector and showing vessel locations. You can zoom in on the whereabouts of individual containers. To ease your searches, the system accepts several different reference numbers (booking reference, B/L number, container ID, etc.,) as input. You can also check cargo status by location.

Together, these comprehensive functions give you a complete picture of the status of all your orders, bookings and shipments, and the power to put you in control of your cargo. A combination of filters, search functions and menu options lets you zoom in on any individual order or booking and make adjustments to it – or cancel it – as required.
