OOCL is excited to introduce the new mascot of its FreightSmart online platform, Fin (known as 小飛 in Chinese). Fin will appear as the FreightSmart virtual ambassador on our website and social media, welcoming our customers with intelligence, care and teamwork.  

Behind the Design 

OOCL and dolphins both love the ocean. The chosen design for Fin represents a dolphin, but while most dolphins appear blue-grey in colour, Fin appears in bubblegum pink, resembling the Chinese White Dolphin (中華白海豚). This special creature inhabits the coastal waters of southern China near our headquarters in Hong Kong, where it is a protected species. These much-loved animals may sometimes be spotted leaping out of the water, making them a popular sight on wildlife ecotours. 

Why a Dolphin? 

Dolphins are intelligent animals which live in groups known as pods. The members of a pod work together in cooperation, communicating with one another and protecting each other, making Fin a perfect symbol for the intelligence, caring and teamwork which characterise FreightSmart, the full-service end-to-end shipping platform.  

The Meaning of the Mascot 

As a customer-centric organisation, we seek to demonstrate the same helpfulness to our customers that dolphins show to their podmates. We plan to bring this mascot to life across various channels and activities, as an indication that OOCL consistently delivers a friendly and welcoming experience to our customers wherever they encounter us.
